An antique Kalamkari which has been finely quilted. This textile is beautifully rendered with a central medallion and intricate borders. Along with the flowers and meandering vines stylistically it would seem to originate in Persia or India. The ancient name “qalam" means pen and “kari" means craftsmanship.
The earthy colors are derived from plants, roots and iron filings. Excellent Condition.
