Fortuny "Mazzarino" Fabric from mid-20th Century.
This particular "Bittersweet" colored Fortuny pattern was based on a 17th Century French design named for Cardinal Mazzarin of the Court of Louis XIII and Louis XIV. It was made in Venice at the Fortuny Factory in much the same small scale manufacturing process begun by Mariano Fortuny in the early part of the 20th Century. Woven from long staple Egyptian cotton. It is signed.
In excellent unused condition. The Mazzarino pattern is no longer produced. A second panel is also available.
